AN IMPORTANT WESTONITE IS HONOURED

Weston residents gathered in Little Avenue Memorial Park on October 17, 2009 to witness the unveiling of a special plaque honouring local stonemason James Gilbert Gove (1884-1974). This concluded a year-long effort by Heritage Toronto, in association with Gove’s family, the Weston Heritage Conservation District and the Weston Historical Society to recognize the man who built Weston’s beautiful Humber stone walls. To learn more about James Gove please read Cherri's Hurst's fascinating article 'Stories in Stone'.
